Mel's Pilates classes have genuinely changed how I move and feel every day. Her cues are so clear and she always notices if you're struggling without making you feel self-conscious.

I started with Mel post-surgery and she was incredibly knowledgeable about working around my restrictions. 18 months later I'm stronger than I was before the operation.

Mel's yoga classes are the highlight of my week. She has a beautiful calm presence that makes everything feel achievable, even when you're a complete beginner like me.

Common questions

What you might want to know

Pilates focuses on core strength and postural alignment — the breathing stays in the chest and the work is precise and targeted. Yoga works with flexibility, breathwork (Pranayama) and mindfulness, with roots going back thousands of years. The two complement each other beautifully, and many of Mel's Pilates clients end up trying yoga too.
Not at all — flexibility is something you develop through practice, not a prerequisite for it. Every pose has modifications so you work to your own level. If you can sit in a chair, you can practice yoga. Mel teaches all levels from complete beginner, and you'll always be offered options that suit your body.
Mel teaches mainly Hatha yoga, sometimes moving into a Vinyasa Flow. A class typically opens with a warm-up, works through asanas (poses) with breath awareness, includes some light meditation or mindfulness, and closes with a Savasana (relaxation) phase. You'll leave feeling both grounded and energised.
Yes — Mel runs live Zoom sessions (not recordings) so she can see and cue you throughout. No Zoom account needed; you simply click the link on any phone, tablet or laptop. Online classes are 45–50 minutes, drop-in at £6, or buy a 5-class Zoom pass for £25.
Reformer Pilates uses a spring-resistance machine to add challenge and variety to the mat practice — it's brilliant for building precise strength, improving coordination, and rehabilitating injuries. Mel is Level 3 reformer-qualified and offers a 35-minute introduction session (£30) as well as ongoing 1:1 sessions. Contact Mel to discuss whether it's right for you.
